CES's PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
Mother Clara Hale Bus Depot Reconstruction in Harlem

CES has been working on this MTA/NYCT design and construction project since its conception, providing environmental, safety and document control services. While construction is proceeding on site at a rapid pace, the design of the building is being finalized. The new Mother Clara Hale Bus Depot will utilize various Green Building Features, allowing NYCT to efficiently and sustainably service the growing number of bus riders throughout the city.  The Mother Clara Hale Bus Depot will be one of the first LEED-certified Bus Depots of its type in the country.  The US Green Building Council created LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) to set guidelines for construction that benefits the ecosystem. New in the New Year

Does your Fire Safety Plan (FSP) require an update to avoid FDNY violations?

Starting 2012, FDNY has been enforcing new criteria outlined in August 2011 and issued violations to over 150 hotels in addition to office buildings for a goal of increased life safety through code compliance.

The new fire safety plans, meeting the current criteria, must be prepared, filed a nd approved to include a Building Information Card (BIC), Sprinkler/Standpipe Riser Diagram, Floor Plans in CAD certified by PE/RA, and a change in the standard procedures and language for movement of occupants during a fire emergency.

CES has a team of highly skilled professionals, including retired FDNY personnel, to provide you with the Fire Safety and Evacuation Plans (FSP/EP) that are current and accurate for FDNY acceptance. CES is also one of the first FDNY-approved training providers for the Construction Site Fire Safety Manager courses and regularly assists Building Owners/Managers in remediating Building Violations issued by FDNY.

Are you required to post the OSHA 300-A Summary?

Annually, companies with 11 or more employees must post a summary of the previous calendar year's injuries and illnesses in a visible place from February 1 to April 30 each year. This posting helps keep employees informed about the hazards in their workplace.

Not every on-the-job incident is "recordable". The U.S. Department of Labor provides many on-line resources regarding the Log and how to complete it at this link. Not all businesses need to complete the OSHA log; a list of the exempt businesses is available at this link.

Companies must update the OSHA 300 log within seven days after each injury or illness.

CES' OSHA-authorized instructors are well versed in OSHA requirements and can assist with this or any other safety issues.

NYC DEP Requirements Updates

CES assists Building Owners/Managers with Compliance Reporting (due every March 1) for LL26/88 - the Community Right-To-Know (RTK) that is enforced by NYC DEP.

NYC DEP's Asbestos Control Program (ACP) as of  December 1, 2011, requires electronically file the ACP5 form, using the ACP5 efile site, and the Licensed Investigators need to be preregistered with DEP. The forms for preregistration are available at http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/pdf/acp5_soa.pdf.

Contact us at 212-290-6323 or info@cescenter.com for assistance with your compliance requirements for these programs.
