On a team with Shaw (formerly Stone & Webster Engineering) provided survey, design and monitoring during preparation of the abandoned East River tunnel for incorporation into the new East Side Access line. The work included abatement for over two miles of tunnel containing over 100 transit cable sleeves embedded in concrete and preparation of the concrete floor for the transportation of TBM (tunnel boring machine) to the tunnel rock face on the Manhattan side. Worked in extreme winter weather conditions that required creative means of providing logistics to the work crews.
